Suspenders Almost Give Angler A Heart Attack

Just read the other guys story about his life jacket. Here mine.

I bought a set of the suspenders back in 2000 due to falling out of the boat in December yes it was cold and I had motorcyle suit on and as soon as I rolled out of the boat I went down no dog paddling I sunk straight down in 11 feet of water. My rod was the only thing that saved me that day. My fishing partner grab the tip of the rod and pulled back to the top where I grab the boat. I weighed about 250 in boxers shorts needless to say it was job getting me back in the boat and it was cold! The reason we were there was we were on schooling fish on Clarkhill lake and we were catching one cast after another so my partner said just leave the live well open well you know who stepped in the live well and rolled straight into the lake. After Wayne Culbert got my fat butt back in the boat instead of going to the landing we kept fishing. The fish didn't stop schooling until 45 mintues later and very nice limit of bass. By the time we headed back to the dock and it was very cold by this time especially running across a the lake at 60 hp.

So from that day forth I owned and wear those suspenders. A couple months went by and another good friend named John Peek called and wanted me to take him fishing. My boat was in shop so we used his. John Peek who is a crappie fisherman and his boat a tracker with a 40 HP motor with all the latest rod holders all around the sides of the boat. Its 4:45 a.m. I was waiting at Pair Of Jacks for John. The store hasn't opened yet it opens at 5:00 a.m. And there's a couple others also waiting in the almost dark parking lot.

John pulls up and starts loading my gear in his boat in the dark and yes I had these suspenders (life Jacket on). All at once we hear this hissing and then I don't know what had me. I had gotten the string of the life jacket caught in one of those rod holders still not knowing I did it myself. Everyone laughing at me and I on John about pulling the cord (I thought my dear friend was paying me back for one of the times I messed with his fishing gear) anyway that thing went off and it scared me almost to death and the thing had not been ajusted either if I read the direction when I bought the thing it did say to ajust them prior to wearing them because it could choke you to death and it almost did before I got it off me. Everyone had good laugh but me believe me it was not funny.
